No Bullying 852 Art Campaign
Written by : Wingyee Wu, Angus Chan, Emily Lo, Ringo Ho
Be bullied is something that no one should ever experience. It is therefore depressing to find from Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)'s 2018 PISA report that 29.3% of students from Hong Kong are bullied multiple times each month - a figure far above OECD average.
At the same time we know that many young people have been victims of or witness to bullying, yet they do not want to find help of different reasons.
In 2019, MWYO published a report on bullying, pointing out that it affects not only the victims, but also those seeing it. This, along with stories of bullying shared with us by young people, make us want raise awareness towards bullying in Hong Kong and let more people understand how young people feel when they see bullying.
Through No Bullying 852, we ask young people to share their experiences and thoughts of witnessing bullying with us through different means (photos, drawings, paintings, short films, GIFs, music, words) so that more people can understand how they feel. Works collected will be published on Instagram to raise public awareness on bullying.
