Riding on the Curriculum Review to Foster a Whole-person-development-friendly Learning Environment
The recent curriculum review has focused on ways to relieve academic stress. Through trimming down lesson time and providing an opt-out option for the Independent Enquiry Study in Liberal Studies, it is expected that the measures would free up students’ time, and achieve a multifaceted development alongside academic studies. However, the public discourse of the curriculum review mainly focused on whether the suggestions help relieve stress, but not whether they help students to achieve the goal of whole person development. MWYO, as a youth-oriented think tank, suggests that a definition together with a framework would be a good start to foster whole person development in long term.
