The Brookings Institution suggests that the Boston Summer Youth Employment Programs (SYEPs) are effective in reducing youth arraignments and incarcerations. SYEPs not only provide youths with practical career experiences, but may also serve as vehicles for improving participants’ social and emotional skills.
