Understanding the Path to Crime of Youth-at-risk

Youths-at-risk are not born criminals. Their performances in early primary education are, more often than not, in line with their peers. However, they tend to experience increasing difficulties in learning and adapting to school lives, which have a detrimental impact on their personal growth, self-identity and social development. In short, the defeating experience at school is often the starting point of the downward spiral.

Therefore, school is the conducive environment to identify students who are in danger of becoming youths-at-risk in the future. By providing an appropriate learning environment and experience for these students, we can prevent juvenile delinquency effectively.
